GTA 6: Everything We Know – Release Date, Lucia and Jason, Preorders, and the Trailer 3 Watch

The biggest game release of the decade finally has a date that is sticking: the GTA 6 release date is November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This page is our living hub for everything Rockstar has actually confirmed – the characters, the preorders, the pricing rumors, and the increasingly loud signals that Trailer 3 is about to drop. Bookmark it; we update it as the news lands.

The GTA 6 release date (and the two delays it survived)

Rockstar originally aimed for fall 2025, slipped to May 26, 2026, then slipped once more to November 19, 2026. That date now looks locked: Take-Two’s CEO reaffirmed it in a shareholder letter in mid-July, which is about as firm as this industry gets. Platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only for now – no PC version at launch, in keeping with Rockstar tradition (GTA 5 and Red Dead 2 both came to PC a year or more later).

Vice City, Lucia, and Jason

GTA 6 returns the series to Vice City – neon-soaked, swamp-adjacent, and rebuilt at modern scale in the state of Leonida. The story follows a Bonnie-and-Clyde pair: Lucia Caminos, the first female protagonist in the series’ modern era, born in Liberty City and introduced to us in handcuffs; and Jason Duval, an ex-Army drifter trying to stay out of trouble in a state built entirely out of it. Rockstar has released official character bios and some 60 screenshots, and notably confirmed that Trailer 2 was captured entirely in-game on a PS5 – a flex most studios cannot make.

Start from the beginning – the trailer that broke YouTube records in 2023:

Preorders, editions, and the price question

Preorders opened on June 25 alongside the official cover art reveal. Editions and definitive pricing remain unannounced: reports have floated a standard edition in the 70 to 80 dollar range, but treat every price you see as rumor until Rockstar prints one. When the editions drop, our full buyer’s guide will land the same day.

Trailer 3 watch: the signals are flashing

Here is why this hub exists today. Rockstar has not announced Trailer 3 – but the tells are stacking up exactly the way they did before the preorder reveal: the official GTA 6 site was updated three times in four hours on July 29 with no visible changes (the same silent-update pattern that preceded June’s cover-art drop), industry insiders are pointing at early August, and Take-Two’s earnings call lands August 7 – historically Rockstar’s favorite week for a surprise. Translation: it could be days. When it drops, our frame-by-frame breakdown will be live within hours – that is a promise this site has practice keeping.

What is coming next on lazybatman

The GTA 6 runway to November mirrors the one we have been riding for Marvel: Trailer 3 breakdown the day it lands, an editions and preorder guide when pricing goes official, character deep-dives on Lucia and Jason as Rockstar reveals more, and beginner guides at launch – the same playbook that made our Dota 2 guide this site’s quiet workhorse. Gaming is officially a pillar here now; see also our esports 2026 viewership deep-dive.

What do you want first when Trailer 3 hits – the breakdown, the map analysis, or the Lucia deep-dive? Comments are open.
