Santa Monica Studio has confirmed three voice actors for God of War Laufey so far - and one of them did motion capture for a cube.
Here is the cast as it stands.
Deborah Ann Woll as Faye
Woll is the lead, and she is not new to the role. She voiced Faye in God of War Ragnarök, where the character appeared in flashback and memory rather than in person. The difference this time is scale: Faye is no longer a figure other people describe, she is the protagonist you control for the entire game.
A lot of people will know Woll from elsewhere entirely - she played Karen Page across Netflix’s Daredevil and the wider Defenders shows, and before that played Jessica Hamby across all seven seasons of True Blood.
Casting continuity matters here. Faye has been voiced by the same performer since her first real appearance, so the version of the character players already have in their heads carries straight over.
Jack Quaid as Phranque
Phranque is a cosmic cube. A curious, talkative, gelatinous cube that has decided its purpose in the afterlife is protecting its friends.
Quaid does not just voice it. He did motion capture for the cube as well, in a cube-shaped rig, which is one of the more unusual sentences in recent games casting. Director Ariel Lawrence has since admitted the rig was “not super required, but it is a lot of fun.”
Quaid is having a decade. The Boys made him a household name, and he has become one of the more reliable comic performers working in genre material. Dropping him into God of War - a series with a historically low tolerance for jokes - is a signal about the tone Santa Monica is going for.
Perlina Lau as Rue
Rue is the enchanted ribbon that guards Faye’s sword, and she is sentient.
That makes Rue both a companion character and, functionally, part of your weapon - a genuinely strange design choice that means your gear talks back. The sword’s combat identity is built around speed and momentum, and Rue is wrapped around all of it.
Is Christopher Judge in it?
Not confirmed for Laufey.
Judge did appear at the San Diego Comic-Con panel, where he talked about how hesitant he once was to take a video game role at all, and called Faye “the genesis of the change of Kratos” - the reason for the hope and forgiveness at the heart of the first two Norse games.
He has since confirmed he is returning as Kratos for the announced Kratos-led sequel, and said he does not know what is being done with Laufey. Brief flashes of Kratos do appear in the extended gameplay footage, but whether Judge performs in Laufey in any capacity has not been stated.
Who is missing
Three names is a small cast list for a game this size, and more will presumably be announced closer to launch. The obvious open questions:
- Whether Sunny Suljic returns as Atreus in any form
- Who voices Sekhmet and Begtse, the two gods from other mythologies shown so far, and which others appear
- Whether any Norse cast members from the previous games cross over
- Who the antagonist is - still completely unannounced
God of War Laufey launches February 16, 2027 on PS5.
Correction, September 26, 2026: Deborah Ann Woll was on True Blood for all seven seasons, not five. We also removed an unverified “thirteen years” detail from Christopher Judge’s comments, and a line saying Santa Monica had promised more cast announcements, which we could not source.
