Avengers Doomsday Cast: Every Confirmed Actor and Who They Play

The confirmed Avengers Doomsday cast stands at 31 billed actors as of October 3, 2026, led by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Marvel Studios releases the film in cinemas on December 18, 2026, with Anthony and Joe Russo directing.

The billing mixes MCU regulars with the Fantastic Four and actors from the original X-Men films. Most of the names arrived in one go, on the backs of director’s chairs, in a livestream on March 26, 2025. Four more have joined the billing since, and one more face has appeared in official footage.

The full Avengers Doomsday cast list, team by team

Disney’s official recap of D23 in August 2026 sets the billing order for the Avengers Doomsday cast, with Downey, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal and Paul Rudd at the top. In the tables below, the last column shows the most recent live-action film or series in which that actor played the role, not counting archive footage or voice work.

Doctor Doom

Downey, the MCU’s former Tony Stark, was unveiled as Victor von Doom in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con on July 27, 2024, the same day Marvel confirmed the Russos’ return. His Doom already features in the new scenes of Avengers: Endgame Encore, the September 2026 re-release.

The Avengers and their allies

Sam Wilson now carries the Captain America title, while Evans returns as the original, Steve Rogers. India Rose Hemsworth is not on the billed list, but she appears as Love, Thor’s adopted daughter, in the official Thor teaser.

The Fantastic Four

Marvel’s first family comes straight from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Ben Grimm is the one who turns up in Wakanda, meeting M’Baku in the fourth teaser.

The X-Men

Most of the mutant side of the Avengers Doomsday cast comes from the old 20th Century Fox films, and several of these actors have been away for more than a decade. Alan Cumming has not played Nightcrawler since X2 in 2003, while Channing Tatum finally got to play Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine. Wakanda and Talokan

Shuri became the new Black Panther in Wakanda Forever. The fourth teaser, set in Wakanda, revealed Mabel Cadena’s Namora alongside Namor.

The New Avengers, formerly the Thunderbolts

The Thunderbolts* team was rebranded as the New Avengers by the end of its 2025 film. Yelena has been seen since, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Who joined the Avengers Doomsday cast after the chairs

The chairs livestream ran for more than five hours and named 27 actors: 26 new announcements, then Downey, whose chair came last and who appeared on camera to close the stream. These five have been confirmed since, through teasers, a social media video and a Comic-Con panel.

• Chris Evans as Steve Rogers: the first teaser, shown in cinemas before Avatar: Fire and Ash in December 2025 and released online by Marvel on December 23. It ended on a card promising that Steve Rogers will return.
• India Rose Hemsworth as Love: the second teaser, built around Thor, released on December 30, 2025.
• Mabel Cadena as Namora: the fourth teaser, set in Wakanda, which reached cinemas in early January 2026.
• Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang: her own unboxing video on April 17, 2026, which revealed a mini Doomsday director’s chair with her name on it. It is small, she joked, “because Cassie Lang gets tiny.”
• Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter: Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026, where she joined the cast on stage.

Who is not confirmed for the Avengers Doomsday cast yet

Anthony Russo has said plainly that the list is incomplete. Speaking to D23 about Mark Ruffalo’s scene in the re-release, he said: “We have absolutely not announced the entire cast. There is more to come.”

The strongest hints sit in the new Endgame Encore scenes. Doom comes to collect Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, and the TVA’s Mobius (Owen Wilson) and O.B. (Ke Huy Quan) watch the multiverse collapse. As of October 3, 2026, none of them is on the billed list.

Hulk is the trickiest case. Ruffalo was reported in January 2026 to have told Empire that he was not in the film, but in September Joe Russo told the same magazine that Banner is involved in the Doom story, while refusing to confirm or deny an appearance.

Rumoured, not confirmed: Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds appeared in a comedy video at D23 in August, competing for a place in the film, and some outlets, including The Playlist, read the bit as confirmation. Neither is among the 31 names in Disney’s own D23 cast list, so Wolverine and Deadpool remain unconfirmed.
