Shows Like FROM: 10 Series to Watch Before the Final Season

Shows like FROM worth your time include Lost, Wayward Pines, Silo, Yellowjackets and Dark: stories about places people cannot escape, communities under strain and mysteries that keep deepening. FROM’s fifth and final season is not due on MGM+ until 2027, so here are 10 picks to fill the gap, including two that return this November.

In April 2026, MGM+ called FROM the most-viewed series in the network’s history. If you want a refresher first, our FROM series explainer covers the whole mythology so far.

Why FROM feels so close to Lost

FROM was created by John Griffin, but two of the people running it come straight from Lost. Jack Bender, who directs and executive produces FROM, was an executive producer and the lead director on Lost, and he directed its series finale.

Showrunner Jeff Pinkner was an executive producer on Alias, Lost and Fringe, and he has screenwriting credits on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Venom. Asked about one season 4 storyline, Pinkner told Collider it “was not intended as a Lost homage, but it absolutely is one.”

FROM’s fourth season aired from April 19 to June 28, 2026, and MGM+ had already renewed it on April 15 for a fifth and final season. Filming began in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on July 6 and is due to run until about late November, ahead of a 2027 premiere. Our FROM season 5 guide tracks what is confirmed; until then, the shows like FROM below should keep you busy.

The 10 best shows like FROM to watch next

These shows like FROM run roughly from closest match to loosest. Each pick lists the network where it first aired and whether its story is finished, as of October 3, 2026. Streaming homes change often, so check your own services.

1. Lost

ABC, 2004 to 2010. Six seasons, finished. The survivors of a plane crash are stranded on a mysterious island in the South Pacific, and the island has secrets of its own.

This is FROM’s family tree: a big ensemble of strangers stranded somewhere hostile, and a mystery that grows faster than its answers. If you somehow skipped it, start here.

2. Wayward Pines

Fox, 2015 to 2016. Two seasons, ended. A Secret Service agent investigating disappearances finds himself in a mysterious Idaho town that he is not allowed to leave. It is based on Blake Crouch’s novels, and M. Night Shyamalan directed the pilot.

Of all the shows like FROM, this has the closest premise: residents trapped in a town, monsters that stalk them and a big secret about the place’s origins.

3. Under the Dome

CBS, 2013 to 2015. Three seasons, ended. Based on Stephen King’s novel, it follows the residents of Chester’s Mill, Maine, after a transparent dome suddenly cuts their town off from the rest of the world.

Jack Bender directed episodes here too, and the setup is FROM in a different shape: a small community trapped by something supernatural. Collider notes that it strays a long way from King’s book.

4. Silo

Apple TV+ (now Apple TV), 2023 to present. Three seasons so far; the fourth will be the last. In a dystopian future, about 10,000 people live in a giant underground silo 144 levels deep. It adapts Hugh Howey’s Silo novels.

Swap the forest for concrete and you have FROM’s core question: who built this place, and what is being kept from the people inside? Season 3 ran from July 3 to September 4, 2026, so three full seasons are ready.

5. Yellowjackets

Showtime, 2021 to present. Three seasons so far; the fourth is the last. A girls’ high school soccer team is stranded in the wilderness after a 1996 plane crash, while a second timeline follows the survivors about 25 years later.

Like FROM, it asks what being cut off from the world does to people, and its two timelines keep feeding each other’s mysteries. Paramount+ says the final season premieres on November 20, 2026, for Paramount+ Premium subscribers.

6. The Institute

MGM+, 2025 to present. One eight-episode season so far. Adapted from Stephen King’s 2019 novel, it follows Luke Ellis, a teenager who is kidnapped and wakes up in a facility full of children with unusual abilities.

Same network, same director: Jack Bender is a director and executive producer here as well. Trapped children and a facility with sinister secrets make it a natural companion piece, and season 2 premieres on MGM+ on November 8, 2026.

7. Dark

Netflix, 2017 to 2020. Three seasons, finished. When two children disappear in the small German town of Winden, the search exposes the secrets of four families and a time-travel conspiracy spanning generations.

This is the pick for viewers who love a mythology worth taking notes on. Its characters are caught in loops, and their efforts to change the past tend to backfire.

8. The Leftovers

HBO, 2014 to 2017. Three seasons, finished. From Lost’s Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, it follows the aftermath of the Sudden Departure, when 2 percent of the world’s population vanished without a trace.

FROM is at its best when it studies how people live with the inexplicable, and that is this show’s whole mission. Rotten Tomatoes scores its final season at 99 percent, as of October 3, 2026.

9. Midnight Mass

Netflix, 2021. A single-season limited series. In Mike Flanagan’s horror series, a young man returns to his isolated hometown on Crockett Island just as a mysterious, charismatic priest arrives and the town’s faith begins to revive.

An island community, the pull of belief and a slow slide from unity into suspicion: it hits many of the same nerves as FROM, in far fewer episodes.

10. Twin Peaks

ABC, 1990 to 1991, plus an 18-part Showtime revival in 2017. FBI Agent Dale Cooper comes to a small logging town to solve the murder of high schooler Laura Palmer, and the case pulls him somewhere far more surreal.

It is the template for the quiet town with something deeply wrong underneath, and essential homework for anyone hunting shows like FROM. A fourth season looks unlikely: after David Lynch’s death in January 2025, co-creator Mark Frost said in July 2025 that it was “hard to imagine doing anything beyond this.”
