The Brand New Day digital release date is Tuesday, October 6, 2026: from that day, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is available to buy or rent on Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango at Home and other digital stores. That is 67 days after the film opened in US cinemas on July 31, and the 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD editions follow on December 15.
In the US, Netflix gets the first streaming window and Disney+ comes later, but neither streaming date has been announced as of October 3, 2026. The streaming dates below are our own estimates, based on how Sony’s recent Marvel films moved, and they are labelled that way.
Release dates at a glance
All dates are for the US. The Brand New Day digital release and the disc date are confirmed by Sony; the streaming dates are not.

Brand New Day digital release: price and where to buy
Sony officially confirmed the Brand New Day digital release in late September, alongside its disc plans. It is a premium video on demand release, so you pay to rent or own the film rather than getting it with a subscription.
Pre-orders to own were priced at $29.99 on Prime Video and Fandango at Home, according to Time Out, and Pocket-lint quoted about $30 on Apple TV. Amazon says the film can be bought or rented on Prime Video from October 6, and it also sells a four-film bundle of the Tom Holland films and a nine-film bundle that adds the original trilogy and both Amazing Spider-Man films.
Sony lists the same bonus features for the digital version as for the 4K UHD and Blu-ray, so the extras below are not just for disc buyers.
There is no rush to pick between the sofa and the big screen, either. The film was still playing in late September, and Sony has extended its cinema run to November 16, according to The Direct and ComicBookMovie.com. With close to $2.5 billion worldwide and the biggest domestic total on record, it has earned the long stay; our box office records breakdown has the numbers.
4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD: December 15
The discs arrive on Tuesday, December 15, 2026, three days before Avengers: Doomsday opens on December 18.
If a retailer page still shows November 17, it is out of date. That date was reported in early September, then dropped from many listings by mid-September, according to ComicBookMovie.com, before Sony’s announcement settled on December 15. Murphy’s Multiverse links the later date to the extended cinema run.
Sony has announced these editions:
- Standard 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.
- A 4K UHD SteelBook that also includes the Blu-ray and a digital code.
- A Limited Collector’s Edition: a SteelBook with a magnetic lenticular cover, a relic card holding a piece of wardrobe from the production, an exclusive comic book, art cards, and reproductions of Peter’s handwritten letter to MJ and MJ’s drawing from the film.
The 4K disc has a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and the listed runtime is 145 minutes, the same as the cinema version.
Sony lists a gag reel, Goofs, Gaffes and Gags, plus a long run of making-of featurettes for the 4K UHD, Blu-ray and digital versions. Highlights include Brand New Direction, on Destin Daniel Cretton’s approach; Peter and The Punisher, with Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal; Webs, Wires and Runaway Tanks, on the stunts; and Scorpions, Ninjas, and the Spider-Suit, on the costumes.
The DVD gets only three featurettes: the Tom Holland profile, Brand New Direction and Friends and Foes. As ComicBookMovie.com noted, the list has no deleted scenes.
Is a longer cut coming?
Deadline reported in late September that Sony is working on a theatrical re-release with extra footage, including cut scenes with Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, according to Collider and Murphy’s Multiverse. No date has been set, and for now it is a cinema plan.
How the Brand New Day digital release compares with Sony’s recent films
At 67 days, the Brand New Day digital release came late by Sony’s recent standards. ScreenRant’s tracking found that Sony’s 2025 releases averaged 34.2 days between cinemas and premium digital.
| Film | In cinemas | On digital | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spider-Man: No Way Home | Dec 17, 2021 | Mar 15, 2022 | 88 days |
| Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse | Jun 2, 2023 | Aug 8, 2023 | 67 days |
| Venom: The Last Dance | Oct 25, 2024 | Dec 10, 2024 | 46 days |
| Kraven the Hunter | Dec 13, 2024 | Jan 14, 2025 | 32 days |
| 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple | Jan 16, 2026 | Feb 17, 2026 | 32 days |
| Spider-Man: Brand New Day | Jul 31, 2026 | Oct 6, 2026 | 67 days |
Brand New Day matched Across the Spider-Verse to the day and beat No Way Home by three weeks. No Way Home’s own date had already been moved up a week, from March 22 to March 15, after a high-quality copy leaked online, according to SlashFilm.
When is Brand New Day on Netflix and Disney+?
What is confirmed
Marvel Studios co-produced the film, but Sony Pictures distributes it, so it follows Sony’s streaming deals rather than going straight to Disney+.
Netflix has held the first streaming window, known as Pay-1, for Sony’s films in the US since 2022, under a deal signed in 2021. In January 2026 the two companies agreed a global version that rolls out territory by territory, with full worldwide coverage due in early 2029, so outside the US the path can differ.
Disney signed its own deal in April 2021 for Sony’s 2022 to 2026 releases, which reach Disney+ and Hulu after the Netflix window ends. Brand New Day is a 2026 release, so it falls inside that slate. TheWrap described those Netflix windows as typically lasting 18 months.
Across the Spider-Verse shows the full journey: cinemas on June 2, 2023, Netflix on October 31, 2023, and Disney+ on May 1, 2025, 18 months after its Netflix debut. Before the Netflix era, No Way Home went to Starz instead, on July 15, 2022, 210 days after it opened.
Our estimate
Three recent Sony Marvel films all reached Netflix after their discs came out. Kraven the Hunter arrived nine days after its disc release, Venom: The Last Dance five weeks after and Across the Spider-Verse eight weeks after. Counting from Brand New Day’s December 15 discs, that points to Netflix between late December 2026 and early February 2027.
For comparison, ScreenRant projected February 26, 2027, before the home dates were known. If Netflix then keeps the film for about 18 months, Disney+ would follow around mid-2028. Treat all of these as estimates until Sony or Netflix announces a date.
