FROM season 5 is the last one. MGM+ confirmed it on April 15, 2026, before season 4 had even finished airing, which is the rarest and kindest thing a network can do to a mystery show: it gives the writers a known ending to build toward instead of a cancellation to be surprised by. Here is everything confirmed so far, and the list of questions the final season is now obliged to answer.

Is FROM season 5 confirmed?
Yes, and it is confirmed as the end. MGM+ announced a fifth and final season on April 15, 2026. FROM is the most-watched series in the network’s history, so this is a chosen ending rather than a cancellation dressed up as one.
Co-creator Jeff Pinkner’s description of it is one word: the endgame. His fuller version, given after the season 4 finale, is that the questions get answered and the story reaches its conclusion.
When does FROM season 5 come out?
No premiere date has been announced. What is known:
- Filming began in early July 2026, roughly a week after the season 4 finale aired
- Production is back in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where the series has always shot
- The shoot runs to late November 2026
- A 2027 release is expected
Work backwards from that and a mid-2027 window is the realistic guess. Seasons 3 and 4 both landed in the first half of their year, so spring or early summer 2027 fits the pattern. Nobody at MGM+ has said so.
Who is coming back
MGM+ has not published a full cast list. Expect the surviving core: Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Tabitha Matthews, David Alpay as Jade Herrera, Elizabeth Saunders as Donna Raines, Scott McCord as Victor Kavanaugh and Ricky He as Kenny Liu.
The two open questions are the interesting ones. Pegah Ghafoori’s Fatima turned into a nightwalker in the finale and was never shown dead, so whether she returns as herself, as a creature, or at all is genuinely unknown. And Eion Bailey’s Jim has been dead since season 3 in a show where the timeline is not a straight line, which has never stopped this series before.
Where FROM season 4 left everyone
The finale, If a Tree Falls in the Forest, did more damage in an hour than most seasons manage in ten. Tabitha and Jade got the children’s bones out of the chamber beneath the bottle tree, and pulling the tree down brought red lightning up out of the ground and turned day into night. Meanwhile Sophia, who is the Man in Yellow wearing a teenage girl, went house to house with Clara collecting every talisman in town and feeding them to the Faraway Tree.
Marielle was killed by Smiley in the clinic seconds after a talisman fell. Elgin worked out what Sophia was and died for it. Fatima drank what Clara gave her, turned, and held the creatures off so the others could escape with the bones.

What FROM season 5 has to answer
- Do the bones break the cycle? The Boy in White says the Man in Yellow will not win this time because the residents have them. The Man in Yellow suggested digging them up would be catastrophic. Both can be true.
- What is the red lightning? Completely unexplained, and it started the moment the tree came down.
- A town with no talismans. The one rule that reliably kept people alive after dark is gone, and almost nobody in town knows.
- Fatima. Turned, not dead, and she asked to be remembered as who she was. That is a request the show has to pay off.
- The Boy in White and the Man in Yellow. Co-creator John Griffin confirmed the two are aware of each other and always have been. What they are to each other is the mythology’s last locked door.
- Julie. Stuck re-living the same stretch of time trying to save her father and unable to change it. The show has never said what that costs her.
The thing worth being hopeful about
FROM season 5 inherits the problem that kills most mystery shows, and it fails for one of two reasons: they get cancelled before they can land it, or they never had an answer. FROM has now been protected from the first, and Pinkner’s framing suggests the second is not the problem either.
The season 4 critical response supports that. It scored 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the show’s best, at the exact point in a mystery’s life when audiences usually start to turn. The audience score of 63 percent tells you people are impatient, not that they have stopped watching. One more season is the correct answer to both.
